Infinity 0-12 Podcast: Powered by Battlefoam

The guys over at Infinity 0-12 produce one of the best Infinity Podcasts around and they released their new episode earlier this week. Episode 13: Special Tom News! highlights some excellent new releases by Corvus Belli for the Infinity game, even some new Tohaa stuff, which is my favorite. If you are into Infinity, check it out, if you are not then I would encourage you to give it a chance. It’s a great game.

On that note, I was perusing the web and came across these Infinity inspired t-shirts and merchandise!

The guys over at Fresh Coast 40k are headed over to Big Game III today, an annual Apocalypse game, and they decided to share a pictures. One of them decided to bring a whole lot of Tau. The game will be 4 turns, with about 30,000 points per side. I’ve played in some Apocalypse games before, but none with 60,000 points on the table.

Hey there Blue Table fans, check out the gallery below. We have some images of this awesome city table at Nexus in Kingston Ontario via SkaredCast. This table was actually once a Gamesday table but has since been dispersed to… well, who knows where. Nexus has 2 sections out of a total of 9.

All the photos are from the SkaredCast blog, SkaredCast also has one of my favorite Youtube channels for 40k battle reports.

Check out the new Necron Night Shroud Bomber from Forgeworld. I don’t play Necrons very  much but I think this is new flyer is great. It’s a large dedicated bomber that carries “a relic of that ancient and apocalyptic conflict – so-called Death Spheres – containment vessels imprisoning the merest fragment of anti-matter.”

This item is now open for pre-order and will be available April 5th.

While that new item is super exciting, the thing I am actually a bit more excited for – The Realm of Battle Necron Tomb Citadel.

This piece looks like it was taken straight from Teotihuacan itself (+1 for anyone who knows the reference) and I, for one, am loving it. The Fortress of Redemption and The Wall of Martyrs mark the only large pieces of fortifications available to players right now and with fortifications being a big part of 6th edition 40k- I am extremely happy to see more added to the collection. Even if it this is just a Forgeworld release and not GW, at least someone is getting it out there.

Even if you don’t play Necrons, like Necrons, or like fortifications I think you have to applaud Forgeworld for the effort. People for months have been complaining about the lack of scenery/fortifications, but even more so by the lack of xenos stuff. Think about it, you can really only find imperial buildings and fortifications right now. Hopefully this marks the beginning of a xenos fortification push, only time will tell. It also marks the first big fortification piece from Forgeworld to my recollection, I may be wrong but I hope they keep it up.

Hello Blue Table Painting fans, welcome to The Overwatch- a blog where we cover everything in the wargaming universe. So who am I? I will start by just telling you my name is Brody, I will be blogging on The Overwatch, I am 23-years-young, I have a dog (my best-bud), and I love miniatures.

Instead of going into a long detailed explanation into who I am and what my essence is all about I thought I would make a list of things I like and a list of things I don’t. These are ordinary things- some deal with wargaming and others do not. Not in any particular order.

Things I Like
-The little quilted part at the end of Scotch Tape
-A good wheat beer of micro-brew
-Comments on my writing (even if it is just to tell me how horrendously I misspelled cantankerous)
-Top Chef
-The rolling of a single dice, especially when the outcome of said dice will have a significant impact on how happy one person will be versus another
-Reading a good book
-Thinking while in the shower
-A good RPG
-Understanding the differences between Science Fiction and Space Fantasy

Things I Am Not Too Keen On
-Reality TV shows not named Top Chef
-The fact that I like shower thinking so much
-Old milk and/or tomatoes
-The misuse of good and well

Yes, that’s it. I think that sums me up about right. You could say that with my first official blog post it was a bit gutsy to not include any real wargaming references whatsoever, but that’s how I roll and there will be plenty of time for that as I start my time here. So in these early stages of the blog I invite you to do the same. Introduce yourself, tell us what you’re all about, and maybe one or two things you enjoy as well.
